Plymouth Housing

Background

Plymouth Housing provides permanent, supportive housing to individuals who have experienced homelessness. With over a thousand beds and hundreds of employees, working on brand and web for Plymouth was going to be a meaningful task — as this is an identity and a mission that’s tremendously personal to Plymouth residents, Plymouth staff, and much of the larger Seattle community.

Live Website — Try Me!

Appropriate to their roots in trauma-informed care, Plymouth was very invested in having all stakeholders experience a sense of involvement, voice, and “being heard.” Plymouth organized a committee comprised of representatives from each of their staff departments, and also involved residents in part of People People’s educational process during our discovery phase. The result was an extremely engaged group on the client end, and a broad swath of understanding as we planned our work for them.

The resulting brand and website work strikes an important balance between optimism/reverence and logic/emotion. Overcoming homelessness — whether as a personal story, or as a civic push — contains all of these themes. But we knew that successful result had to express compassion above all else.
